Ants in your Pants 5k & Kids k

UPDATE — Due to condition of the finances within the PTO currently, along with the plethora of activities that are available to individuals and families in the springtime, it was voted on at our PTO meeting on January 19, 2016 to remove the race from our budget for this school year.

Therefore, the 4th annual Ants in your Pants 5k & Kids k race will not be happening this spring as slated for April 30, 2016. Hopefully it will be back in full swing in 2017 — fingers crossed. Please “like” our facebook page or check back on this race website for further updates.

We send a heartfelt THANK YOU to all who have participated in our event the past three years. It has been super fun and successful, and parting is such sweet sorrow. I put my heart into this race when I dreamed it up in 2013. It has, and will always be very special to me personally. Letting go is hard, but sometimes you have to let go of things to allow them to come back even stronger.

Keep moving towards your goals and dreams — they are important and they matter. Keep your eyes focused on the prize and run with endurance the race that is set before you. Those who do not give up will reap the fruit of their labor — persevere — YOU CAN and YOU WILL.

Until we meet again,

We’re back!! After such a phenomenal turnout our first three years, we are so excited to bring you our 4th Annual Ants in your Pants 5k & kids k! Our race course from 2015 will be ours again, courtesy of the City of Pflugerville Parks & Rec, and you’re going to love it — a paved path that winds along Gilleland Creek amongst the trees, provides great shade, and there’s no big hills – yay! We’re ready for your fast feet to trod upon it!

We are planning even bigger festivities for the whole family to enjoy at the start/finish line, conveniently located at Bohl’s Park. It’s going to be awesome — you don’t want to miss out! We also have the option for you to choose to receive a tech (dri-fit) tee or a cotton t-shirt for your race shirt. Stay tuned for more exciting details as race day approaches….

Bohl’s Park
200 Immanuel Road

The 5k race will be chip timed, so relax and go at your own pace.  Enjoy the support along the course, as well as music, photographers, post-race food and tons of fun for everyone.  Come early for pictures with the school mascot, the Pfire Ant!!  Also, make sure you get a complimentary finisher’s photo taken against our logo background — printed right on the spot!

There will be awards and prizes for the overall top three finishers (male & female), as well as top three age group winners for seven different age categories (male & female). All kids k participants will receive a finishers medal. All 5k participants will be automatically entered into a complimentary raffle for additional cool prizes.  Check out the Awards and Prizes section for more details!

All proceeds from this race will directly benefit Pflugerville Elementary Pfire Ant students and staff through outside improvements and academic support.
